When is my dog ready for Off-Leash Obedience?
Before beginning training, we recommend that dogs be at least 12 months of age. For the best results, we recommend the dog have a reliable foundation in on-leash obedience before starting our off-leash program. It is imperative that the dog already has a clear understanding, desire, and respect for obedience behaviors before moving away from leash training.

How do I communicate with my dog without a leash?
Canine by Design’s trainers use Martin System electronic training collars. We like to think of the electronic collar as a “doggy cellphone.” These allow us to effectively communicate with our dogs from a distance through a variety of modes that are comfortable and clear to your pet.
